A Sneak Peek at What’s Under the Hammer in 2019… 22 Nov 2018 News
With a new year on the horizon, myself and the team are looking forward to what 2019 will hold. This year we have held more specialist Sales than ever, and we’re set to increase this number. Here’s a few of our specialist Sales and some of the collections which await you next year:
We’re holding our Oriental Art & Antiques Auction again this year and this takes place on Thursday 24th January 2019. My top tip would be to keep an eye out for our exclusive Balladie collection of furniture. This is an exclusive collection of furniture and items from a prestigious collector. The stand out item in this collection is the Japanese export cabinet on a stand which we will be offering at £2,000-3.000, it also consists of the Japanese lacquer collection and an additional netsuke collection which is a real treat, and which are highly sought-after collectables. We’ve noticed a big increase in the interest of our Oriental Art items in Sales over the past few years and so we’re looking forward to an exciting Sale with this one.
We’re also very pleased to announce a new Sale which will be launching for the first time and offers our customers something very special! The Gentleman’s Library Auction is a specialist Sale which will take place in Summer 2019 and will feature ethnographical items, early photographs from around the world, maps, books, pipes, travel and exploration. Conjure up what Sherlock Homes’ study would look like, and that’s this Sale in a nutshell!
