Adventure Calls at Bishop & Miller’s Charity Talk Event 9 Jun 2019 News
This week we opened the salesrooms doors for an evening to host a preview to our new Gentleman’s Library Auction with a twist, as we had the pleasure of welcoming some valued customers and supporters to one of our annual Charity Talk Events and drinks evening.
This special Charity Talk Event, which took place on Wednesday 2nd September, aimed to raise essential funds for Zest (as part of the St Elizabeth Hospice family) and AJ’s Legacy and invited Pip Stewart, adventurer and speaker, to share experiences of some of her world expeditions. A motivating and inspiring talk, Pip shared stories of how she battled mind over matter as she she took on flesh eating parasites and living for weeks in the jungle.
Guests were also able to peruse the fascinating items all on sale at the first ever Gentleman’s Library Auction which amongst hundreds of enticing lots features a Bronze Age Shield, Neolithic Axe Heads and a fascinating John Speed Map of the World, to name a few.
