Local Jewellery & Watches Auction Shines with Hotly Anticipated Collectibles 21 Jul 2019 News
Bishop & Miller, the region’s leading independent and international auction house and valuation firm, held its Fine Jewellery & Watches Sale at the weekend, which was the most successful auction of the year so far as well as the company’s 101stAuction since it opened in 2015.
The Auction showcased many items including a number of collectible watches which continue to be and one of the most popular items across all Auctions. One of the star lots from the auction was a rare Tudor Oyster Prince Submariner “snowflake” gentleman’s wristwatch (1970) which sold for £7,420 to a buyer in the UK.
Other highlights of the Auction included a spectacular emerald and diamond set platinum ring (the oval emerald at an estimated 1.58 carat) with a surround of diamonds totalling an estimated diamond weight of 3.24 carats, which sold for £7,420. Another top selling jewellery piece was an 18 carat white gold diamond solitaire ring, with an approximate 1.85 carat brilliant cut diamond set, which fetched £3,120. Included in the Watches section of the Auction was the Patek Philippe 18 carat gold gentleman’s wristwatch also sold for £4,200.
