We are delighted to present our next Fine Furniture, Works of Art & Paintings auction.
Highlights include a George II table clock by Robert Romley of London, a pair of George III gilt gesso and limewood figures, a 17th century verdure tapestry and an 18th century gold rococo cagework mounted agate box. The sale also features a Louis XVI kingwood and rosewood secretaire à abattant, a Chinese export amboyna and ebony kneehole desk and a French oak railway sleeper carved with a nude.
Among the works on paper and paintings are a Gilbert Spencer RA landscape, works by Cecil Rochfort D’Oyly-John, Hugh Brandon-Cox and Sir Peter Francis Bourgeois RA, alongside a drawing attributed to Augustus Edwin John and a painting from the circle of J.M.W. Turner. The sale also includes a two early 20th century Steiff Peter Rabbit figures, Russian icons, Meissen porcelain and a Swiss singing bird automaton.
