We are delighted to present our next Oak Interior Auction. A sale of early oak furniture, carving and the historic English interior.
Highlights include a 16th century Flemish carved door panel, a Charles I carved oak panel dated 1628, a 15th century English oak roof boss, a 16th century misericord, and a large heraldic stained glass window.
The furniture includes coffers, court cupboards, dressers, wainscot and box seated armchairs, gateleg and credence tables, a Charles I oak four poster bed and a 17th century oak cradle, with regional attributions to Yorkshire, Cumbria, the Welsh Marches and beyond. Carved figures and architectural fragments are also on offer.
The sale is completed by pewter chargers and tankards, bronze mortars and cauldrons, iron and brass candle and rushlight holders, copper kitchenware, needlework samplers, a pair of 17th century verdure tapestries, and Dutch Delft and Bellarmine pottery.
