Jewellery & Watches Sale Sparkles 23 Jul 2018 News
Bishop & Miller, the region’s leading independent and international auction house and valuation firm, is celebrating following its Fine Jewellery & Watches Sale at the weekend, which made a total of £200,000, making it the most successful auction of the year. The highest selling piece from the auction was a Rolex GMT wristwatch which sold for £15,000 (lot 699) and a pair of stunning diamond earrings which sold for £9,600 (lot 161) to a buyer in Paris.
Other highlights of the record-breaking Sale included a beautiful sapphire and diamond ring (lot 303) which fetched £7,800 and a highly-collectible Cartier open face pocket watch (lot 568) which sold for £6,000 to a customer in France and an Omega Thin Arrow military wristwatch sold for a total of £4,000 to a bidder in Germany. The Sale included three unique lots (two brooches and a necklace) which paid homage to the centenary celebrations of the Suffragette movement and these which sold for a total of £1,200 including an Edwardian Brooch which sold for £800.
Oliver Miller, managing director and auctioneer at Bishop & Miller, says: “Our Fine Jewellery & Watches Sale is always a highlight in our auction calendar and we’re thrilled that we continue to attract attention from both old and new customers, from around the world including France, Germany and Australia. We all had a celebration on Saturday to toast the team’s success to holding our most successful Sale of the year. It’s a real achievement as we’re still a relatively new company having been in business since 2015 and to make huge milestones like this is something to be really proud of.”
