Decorative Art & Design Auction Draws In Bidders 23 Sep 2019 News
Bishop & Miller, the region’s leading independent and international auction house and valuation firm, held its Decorative Art & Design Auction this week, which saw an array of collectable paintings, glassware and furniture sell to competitive bidders. Highlights in this spectacular Sale included a special painting by Sherree Valentine Daines (Lot 443) which includes a young boy and girl standing on a pier, which sold for £4,480.
A beautiful example of Art Deco glassware, a Lalique Ibis pattern clear and frosted glass vase (Lot 204) etched with “R. Lalique, France”, sold to a collector for £2900. Lot 504, a painting by Rudolph Ihlee (1883-1968), of a oil on canvas landscape scene dated ’32, fetched £1,900 to a successful bidder.A special painting with local significance was Lot 302, by John Piper (1903-1992), called “Two Suffolk Towers”, signed screenprint which sold for £1,500.Oliver Miller, managing director of Bishop & Miller, says: ” We were thrilled with our recent Decorative Art & Design auction at the weekend – what a day it was!
