Star-studded Lots in Upcoming Music Auction 26 Oct 2018 News

Bishop & Miller will be holding its specialist Music & Memorabilia Sale which includes the exclusive Ed Sheeran Collection, on Saturday 10th November from 9.30am at its Stowmarket Salerooms.

One of the highlights of this Sale includes Lot 302, which is a David Bowie, Starman, 8″ Trident Studio Acetate, 1972. The estimate for this rare and special collectable is £1,500 – £2000.  Oliver Miller, Bishop & Miller’s Managing Director, says: “Lot 302 is one of our standout lots from our Music auction; the acetate was cut at Trident Studios, London where Bowie recorded the LP “The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars.” It comes with a letter of provenance from the vendor who was secretary to Bowie’s manager Tony Defries and she used it to type up the lyrics to Starman and it’s been in her possession ever since 1972.” 

The exclusive Ed Sheeran Collection includes over 300 personal items such as childhood toys, clothes and instruments, which belong to international singer and songwriter, Ed Sheeran. The star’s very own custom made and played Martin Guitar which could sell for around £2,000-£3,000; an Ed Sheeran life-size Lego Head which has an estimate of £800-£1,200; a pair of his used Nike trainers which could fetch around £80-£120 as well as his used orange headphones which may sell for around £80-£120.   

This Sale is packed full of collectable records featuring Rock & Pop from 1950s/60s/70s/80s, Jazz, Northern Soul, Soul, Reggae, Prog Rock, Psyche, Heavy Metal, Punk, Classical and Musicals. Some of the other top picks include:  

-Lot 39, The Beatles – Revolver. A rare Danish copy in stereo from 1966. Est £20 – £40. 

-Lot 355, A Fez hat signed by Madness, along with a tee shirt and a cd. Est £30 – £50.

 -Many Beatles items including lot 369, a 1960s Belguim made rug, app 90 x 55cm, est £100 – £150. Lot 330, 1964 programme from Ipswich Gaumont with ticket stub, est £80 – £120. 

-Lot 363, Bob Dylan handbill from 1961. This is from his first concert in New York, just 53 tickets were sold. Est £100 – £200.
