Suffolk born and raised Russell has almost 20 years experience working within the auction industry. His interest in antiques and auctions started early in life having worked as a porter during school holidays. After studying and achieving his degree in Fine Art Valuation in Southampton Russell moved back to Suffolk, to work at Neal’s Auctioneers in Woodbridge.

Russell then joined Bishop & Miller in March 2018 and is now a familiar face on the rostrum, one of our lead Auctioneers and Valuers, Russell also heads up our Watches and Clocks auctions. Although he is an authority on timepieces with his own collection of Submariner and Divers Watches, his interest is still in Fine Art and the history of objects.

He has a keen interest is all things silver and silverware too, fascinated by the variety of styles and time periods. It is the nature of these beautiful and utilitarian objects that holds a special place, especially as they can be accurately identified by maker’s marks and down to particular years rather than purely time periods.
