Lydia Micallef FGA DGA PJDIP is Bishop & Miller Auctioneers & Valuers dedicated Jewellery & Gemstone specialist.

With an educational interest in art, design and fashion Lydia’s love of jewellery came from regular visits to local independent jewellers and a passion for the gemstones at an early age. Fast forward to a job in a local independent jewellers, her passion for fine jewellery grew. Lydia took her passion to the next level and studied at The Gemmology Association in London obtaining a wealth of knowledge and experience of all things gemstones and precious metals. Lydia also extensively trained in diamond grading and whilst studying for her Diamond Diploma won the MOK Diamond Practical prize for Best Practical Diamond Grading in 2022.

Lydia has gathered a wide knowledge base in a range of styles of jewellery from early pieces to 20^th Century designs. However her favourite jewellery period is Edwardian as its then that makers started using delicate metalwork and introduced platinum to their designs. Lydia shares her passion with her peers with guest talks at jewellery conferences across the UK and attending the National Association of Jewellers Summit on an annual basis.

Lydia is delighted to be joining the specialist team at Bishop & Miller, with a wealth of knowledge and experience of fine jewellery and gemstones she is excited to share her love of jewellery with you.
