Oliver Miller

The Founder and Managing Director of Bishop & Miller Auctioneers and Valuers, Oliver has extensive experience spanning over 20 years within the Art and Auction world. 

Having spent much of his early career learning antique furniture restoration he had developed a keen interest in the history and origins of the items he worked on. Oliver continued crafting his knowledge and love of antiques at Bonhams auctioneers, originally joining as a Porter, but quickly progressing to become a Saleroom Manager and then a Valuer. 

After many years in the auction and valuation trade, Oliver decided in 2015 the time was right to create his own auction house in Suffolk, opening Bishop & Miller Auctioneers and Valuers in Stowmarket Suffolk. The business has quickly grown a respected reputation within the trade, continuing to pioneer new approaches and bring – but with a deep appreciation for the heritage and tradition of auctioneering. The business has expanded to a 21-strong team of industry experts and in 2022 Bishop & Miller opened a second auction house in Holt, Norfolk. 

Oliver’s personal interests stem from his background in Furniture and Fine Art but also spans the entirety of antique and historically significant objects. You will often see Oliver standing gavel in hand commanding the room and orchestrating our auctions both an and offline. Driven by the belief that good old fashioned customer service, mixed with the modern age of the marketplace, Oliver continues to lead Bishop & Miller combining these two core principles to give our clients and consigners the highest quality, professional service throughout the auction experience.
