Steven Stockton

Valuer

Steven is a seasoned veteran with over twenty years experience as an all-round valuer and auctioneer, working across England for some of the biggest names in the industry. He began his career in 2000, with saleroom roles at Phillips and Sothebys in West London, as well as ten years with Bonhams, firstly working on the Athenaeum sales in Bury St Edmunds, then as senior valuer & office manager of the Guildford, Surrey branch.

After managing Tennants of Yorkshire illustrious Harrogate office for five years, Steven has returned to East Anglia, along the way having sourced paintings that have broken world auction records for artists including Cecil Rochfort D’Oyly-John and Bertram Priestman. Over his career he has managed estates and collections for, amongst others, a Saudi princess, a Russian oligarch and a Greek shipping magnate, the highlight of which was the sale of a pastoral landscape by Claude Lorrain that achieved over £700,000.

Joining Bishop & Miller in 2022, Steven now supports Kevin Lines curate our Norfolk saleroom and auction house in Glandford. Specialising in fine art, paintings and prints but also bringing the breadth and depth of his knowledge to more regular high end sales for consignors and collectors alike.
